Program Description:
This course will provide opportunities for track and field meets and practices with peer athletes in France.  Students will have a chance to visit several training facilities, including the Olympic high altitude training facility.  Students will spend time in the french city of Toulouse as well as in some small villages in the Pyrenees mountains 

LEARN (approx 12+ hours) Full orientation, Guest speakers, site visits hearing from locals, guided lectures, local language, Daily Reflection
 
PLAY (Approx 20 hours) Sport immersion- competing with and against local athletes, conversing in local language, engaging and reflecting on different sports perspectives and cultural differences. Intro to local sport(s) and sport culture.
 
TRAVEL (Approx 20+ hours) Housing will be a combination of guesthouses, hotels, if and when possible homestays. City/Market scavenger hunt, Hiking the great Pyrenees, reflection time en transit through countryside, sightseeing and local meet n greets.
 
SERVE (Approx 5 hours) Minimum of one half day serving with local organization(s); team building sessions
 
 
ATHLETIC PROGRAM
Community Service through Sport Global Players will arrange at least one coaching and leadership opportunity to foster engagement with the local community through sport in the host cities.
 
Local Trainings. Athletic trainings, hosted by Global Players, a local team in the host city facilitated by Global Players, or a third party cross-training vendor, will take place during the Program. These trainings consist of
 
Training sessions hosted by local teams in the host city, or,
Training sessions hosted by Global Players with Program participants
General strength and conditioning trainings 
Athletic Trainer. Global Players requires the School provide its own Athletic Trainer for the duration of the program to oversee the School’s student-athletes’ injury prevention, diagnoses, care, treatment, and rehabilitation if need be. The Athletic Trainer will be included in all the program’s components including orientation, cultural activities, meals, and especially athletic activities. If the School plans to opt out of this requirement a Waiver will need to be signed.
 
Athletically Related Activities. All games, clinics, or other athletically related activities are amateur in nature. Because of the nature of amateur sports; game times, schedule, etc can change according to the needs of the participating local team or coach. In some instances, because of events out of Global Players' control, participating teams can cancel their intention to participate. In the event this occurs, Global Players will use reasonable efforts to arrange substitute games, clinics, or athletically related activities.

  • Summer Day Camp (service)- Coach Young Athletes!

  • Free evening/Prepare for departure
